Being a Responsible Company
At Café Desire, we have always believed in the importance of building a great, enduring company that strikes a balance between profitability and a social conscience.
Ethical Sourcing: We take a holistic approach to ethically sourcing the highest quality raw material. This includes Responsible purchasing practices from our suppliers who qualifies by submitting all the documents according to parameters laid by standards of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) to become part of our approved vendor list. When we buy our raw material this way, it helps foster a better future. It helps create a long‐term supply of the high‐quality products we’ve been carefully blending and packing fresh for more than 15 years.
Environmental Stewardship: We share our customers' commitment to the environment. And we believe in the importance of caring for our planet and encouraging others to do the same. It is our goal that by 2015, we will work by 90% to significantly reduce our environmental footprint through energy and water conservation, recycling and green construction.

Café Desire has a culture and reputation built around responsible, ethical business practices and building trust in areas where we do business. From top down, we’re committed to enhancing our ethical performance through strategic relationships with our global, regional and domestic suppliers whom we convert as our approved vendor through our internal process.
What We’re Doing Now
We’ve set strong standards for our suppliers and offer them assistance when corrections need to be made to their business practices. Adherence to those standards informs our sourcing decisions and ensures we are working with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical sourcing. Our buyers work directly with suppliers, negotiating contracts for the products we need in our operations or sell to our customers.
In 2012 we assessed most of our suppliers factories and found that few of them failed our zero-tolerance standards. Even though our approach is to work with suppliers to correct the issues, there are times when we halt business due to the nature of the issues and until adequate resolution takes place. While we were able to implement improvement plans with almost majority of these factories, we discontinued working with couple of factories as suppliers for standards issues. Since starting the program in 2012 itself, we are committed to continue and sustain this practice.
What We’ll Do Next
This year we are highlighting the importance of building strong manufacturing practice. This manifests itself through conversations around how to address the changing needs of workers, how to better protect the safety of workers, and how to create a sense of security in factories.
Product processing Quality:
Complete process of our production must meet our standards for high quality also meet the parameters of GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICE evaluated by third-party verifiers.
Economic transparency is required. Suppliers must supply the raw material meeting all the standards and adhering to the law of the land.
Measures evaluated by third-party verifiers help protect the rights of workers and ensure safe, fair and humane working and living conditions. Compliance with minimum-wage requirements and prohibition of child and forced labor is mandatory.
Café Desire initiates the Measures to manage waste, protect water quality, conserve water and energy, preserve biodiversity and reduce agrochemical use.
